Everyone has the right to feel emotionally healthy. I believe that begins with giving yourself permission to address those emotions/behaviors that are disrupting your life. For some of my clients, their treatment includes resolving issues from their past or getting unstuck from a present day situation. My style is always collaborative, interactive and motivating. We work together to achieve your treatment goals.

I provide individual and group counseling to adolescents (ages 16+) and adults.

I use therapeutic approaches that are appropriate for the client's situation. That approach is a combination of insight-oriented psychotherapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy.  Insight-oriented therapy works out of the assumption that the better you know yourself the better you will function.  It gives self-knowledge by clarifying your motives and teaching you how and why you function the way you do. Cognitive-behavioral therapy looks at the relationship between our thoughts, emotions and behaviors.  It explores how changing our thought processes can improve our emotional experiences.

Areas of specialization include:
-Anger management
-Trauma/Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
-Addiction and Recovery (including Adult Children of Alcoholics)
-Co-occurring Disorders (mental health and substance abuse problem)

Additional topics that can be addressed in therapy:
  • Childhood trauma
  • Chronic illness
  • Communication issues
  • Job satisfaction
  • Parent and child development
