I understand the ups and downs of stress from my own experiences. Take the pandemic lockdown, for instance. Keeping my stress in check and energy up was important, especially with the challenges of managing my busy private practice. Therefore I didn't forfeit my weekly home workouts and trips to the farmers market.
But there's another side to chronic stress that often goes unnoticed—it’s a widespread health syndrome that’s frequently ignored by our healthcare system.
After years of advanced training and certifications, including Integrative Medicine for Mental Health and Functional Psychiatry I use proven, researched-based treatments to help professionals recover from burnout.
Most clients are not aware how poorly managed stress can contribute to their health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and even mental disorders like depression and anxiety.
This is when talk therapy is not enough.
In my psychotherapy practice, I've seen more people coming in with symptoms related to long-term stress, which is really taking a toll on their total health. During many of our sessions, I’m forced to step into the role of a health coach, guiding them through lifestyle changes to bounce back from how deeply chronic stress has disrupted their health.
